Synopsis:

Kristen Peterson is facing the reality that she probably won’t have kids. When she meets Josh Copeland, who wants a big family of his own one day, she’s determined not to fall in love with him. But sometimes, logic isn’t a match for feelings!

Review:

What a fun break from all the heavy books (and dire news stories) I’ve been reading! This one really lifted me up (even though I was definitely ugly crying toward the end). 😉

Kristen’s obstinacy is frustrating at times, and a she’s little blind to some obvious plot points, but I get it. She’s been dealt a crap hand, and she’s doing her best to not spread her bad luck. A strong woman ruled by logic and a lot of sarcasm, she isn’t used to being ruled by emotions. Which makes her journey that much more endearing.

There are mixed reviews with how the infertility issue was handled – some people wanted a happy ending, some didn’t. I think both camps have valid points, but I don’t think Jimenez cheapened this book with her choice. Every infertility story is different, and two women in a nearly identical medical situation might regard this book with opposite feelings. As someone personally acquainted with some aspects of pregnancy issues, I found the ending sweet and optimistic. I don’t always need glaring truth in my romance novels…sometimes I just enjoy the promise of a happy ending.

Overall, this was such a sassy and sweet book! Despite some minor flaws, it left me feeling warm and hopeful, and definitely looking forward to the sequel!

I am not drunk. I’m just talking in cursive.
